SafeSide BBQ was founded by husband-and-wife team Brad and Christina Kurtz with a mission bigger than simply selling food.

Brad is a U.S. Air Force combat veteran, and the SafeSide name honors his military unit and the men and women he served alongside.

What began with cookouts for his unit, family and friends grew into a passion for slow-smoked BBQ — and eventually a business built around food, service and community.

Brad's South Minneapolis roots and Christina's small-town Arkansas background bring together what SafeSide calls Northern grit and Southern soul.
